The Colosseum
This giant amphitheater is a must for anybody visiting or on holiday in Rome. Originally built in the year 80AC as a 50,000 capacity amphitheater for gladiatorial conquests and public displays it is now on the itinerary of millions of holiday maker and tourists every year.
The Roman Forum
The Roman Forum is the most important archaeological area in Rome. As far back as the 7th century B.C., the Forum was the center of political, commercial and religious life in Rome and was the area around which Ancient rome developed. It's remains give a clear insight to tourists and holiday makers of how these urban spaces were used during the Roman Age.
The Trevi Fountain
This is the most famous of the Baroque fountains in Rome. The Trevi Fountain provided a valuable water source to Romans for many centuries but today serves as a popular tourist destination for crowds of holiday makers. Most tourists follow the ritual of throwing coins into the fountain - the legend being that if you throw one coin in you are ensured a return to Rome, two coins to get married; and three to get divorced!
The Spanish StEPS
Possibly the most famous set of steps in Rome link the Piazza di Spagna to the Piazza Trinità dei Monti and it's church, Trinità dei Monti. They provide one of the most romantic destinations for visitors on holiday in Rome or Italy as a whole.
