The Amalfi Coast and the Sorrento Peninsular

The Amalfi Coast and the Peninsula of Sorrento provide one of the most picturesque holiday destinations in the whole of Italy. Its rugged coastline, awesome scenic beauty and picturesque towns and villages it is a real paradise of a holiday destination. The Amalfi Coast itself, on the southern side of the peninsula, provides one of the Italys most picturesque yet challenging drives along its narrow, winding roads.

Sorrento

Sorrento is a small city on the north western tip of the peninsular and is a famous and sometimes rather exclusive Italian holiday destination. It attracts both Italians and Foreigners alike and can be a rather expensive yet romantic destination. it is famous for its production of Limoncello, a lemon flavoured apperatif.

Capri

The island of Capri can be reached by ferry from Sorrento and is one of the most exclusive holiday destinations in Italy. Its port is bustling with tourists and holiday makers of all kinds troughout the summer months but as you delve deeper into the island you can stumble across exclusive hotels and villas in unbelievably tranquil locations. Capri became a renowned holiday hot spot for the international Jet Set and has remained an equally saught after destination ever since.

Positano

At the western end of the Amalfi coat Positano is a small town nestled into the rugged cliffs rising up above a beautiful beach. It provides an excellent desintation for a beach holiday but again can be rather exclusive with many hotels only being reachable by sea taxi.

Ravello

Ravello is a small town perched high on the hillside above the Amalfi Coast. Anybody on holiday on the Amalfi Caost can not afford to miss the drive up into the hills to take in the views along the whole of the Amalfi Coast. Ravello is also an extremely pleasant town to wander around and in the summer months the Ravello festival is a draw for many tourists.
